Well, this week was interesting, So, we have discovered that there is not a single place in Gaia that sells a map of Gaia. You have to go to Porto to get a map of Gaia....you have to love the Portuguese sense of logic. SO, as a result we have been VERY VERY lost for a whole week. Luckily now we have permission to go to Porto and buy a map. As an upside we have made a lot of friends here as we keep having to stop and ask for directions. The only thing resembling a map that we have is about 10 years old and in soon to be 8 pieces...which we found out the hard way has a whole lot of the roads wrong.
On a different note, we are discovering daily the reasons that we were sent here to Gaia. There have been quite a few things that have already happened were we know they only happened because we were sisters and not Elders. Not that I am thinking we are any better than anyone else, but there is a different confidence people have in women. We were going over the baptismal interview questions with our investigator who is going to be baptized on Saturday, and it was amazing everything that she confided in us as she said she couldn´t tell the Elders. It was definitely a faith building experience. She is an amazing example to me. I am so happy for her.
Anyway, the work rolls on in Gaia, and our goal this week is to not get lost. We will see how it goes. Have a great one, thanks for the support!

Well the sad news of the week is that we still do not have a map. We were completely sold out by an old investigator...we got the map home and realized the map of Gaia was really a map of Porto with about 4 blocks of Gaia on the end. Sad day. Oh well, we only got lost a couple times this week. Luckily we live close to one of the biggest buildings in Gaia, so we can always find our way home.
The exciting news of the week is that we had one more experience that manifested why were are here in Gaia. We showed up at Rosângela´s house three days before her baptism and were let in the door with a " good, you are here, I have lots of doubts\questions." Not exactly what we were expecting to hear. Well, she let us in and lead us directly to her room, where she opened the closet door and said " I have no idea what to wear after the baptism and for the confirmation.... help." Well, we were two very relieved missionaries and we had a good laugh over it later. The baptism was great.... everything that could go wrong did, but in the end it all worked out and the spirit was very strong. She stood up afterward and bore a very sweet testimony of the gospel, how it has changed her life and how much we have meant to her. It was really a good experience. I am so grateful for the joy and knowledge we have that comes from the gospel. It is such a blessing that we can have.
Anyway, time is short this week, but thank you all for the support and love. You are awesome, have a fantabulous week!
